After a Photoshop CC update, it might happen that the LaserSoft Imaging SRDx Photoshop Plugin does not show up in Photoshop -> "Filters" anymore.
The first attempt so resolve this, is to reinstall the plugin from the following links:
- macOS version:
<https://www.silverfast.com/dl-srdx-mac>
- Windows version:
<https://www.silverfast.com/dl-srdx-win>
If this does not solve the issue, you can still install the plugin manually as described below...
On a macOS system, you copy the SRDx plugin from its installation folder to the Photoshop Plug-In folder.
The SRDx installer puts the original plugin file "SRDx.plugin" to:
/Applications/LaserSoft Imaging/Photoshop SRDx Plugin
There are two folders which can be used - one is global and the plugin should automatically survive the next Photoshop CC update when using this:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC
The second path is Photoshop PS CC version specific - e.g. for Photoshop CC 2023 use:
/Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2023/Plug-ins
On Windows systems, there is the same routine but with different locations.
Once installed, the LaserSoft Imaging SRDx Photoshop Plugin locates at:
C:\Program Files\LaserSoft Imaging\Photoshop SRDx Plug-in
Please copy the file "SRDx.8bf" to the global Plug-In folder for Photoshop CC versions. Using this path makes the SRDx plugin more stable against further Photoshop CC updates:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC
... or use the version specific one (example for Photoshop CC 2023):
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-Ins
After another restart of Photoshop, the SRDx plugin will be available again and can be used with the new Photoshop release you just updated to.
